Barry Hannah (1942-2010) won the William Faulkner Prize and a nomination for the National Book Award for his first novel, Geronimo Rex. His short story collection, Airships, won the Arnold Gingrich Short Fiction Award and the Award for Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His novel, Yonder Stands Your Orphan, was twice nominated for the National Book Award, and his short story collection High Lonesome was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.
