R.H.W. Dillard teaches English at the Jackson Center of Creative Writing at Hollins University, where he chaired the undergraduate and graduate creative writing program for 32 years.  Winner of the O. B. Hardison Jr. Poetry Prize of the Folger Shakespeare Library and the Hanes Poetry Prize of the Fellowship of Southern Writers, he is the author of 14 books -- seven books of poems, two novels, one book of shorter fiction, two critical monographs and two translations of classical dramas.  He is also the co-author, with George Garrett and John Rodenbeck, of the screenplay of the "cult classic" film, Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster.  He lives in Roanoke, Virginia.
